Bouley Restaurant

Travelling downtown to the exquisite Bouley Restaurant, my favourite restaurant from 2013 and a sheer delight, The restaurant is elegant and understated, with an enormously enjoyable bread cart and matched wines with the degustation menu. This is what we had,

Chilled Wellfleet Oysters
Yuzu, Miso, Meyer lemon Cloud

Forager’s Treasure Of Wild Mushrooms
Sweet garlic, special spices, grilled toro, black truffle dressing
(a serious contender for dish of the day - mushrooms, truffles and coconut cream foam)

***

Porcini Flan
Golden Princess crab, Alaska dungeness crab, black truffle dashi

Hawaiian Spot Prawns In An Egg-Less Ravioli
Pencil Malibu green asparagus, black truffle dressing

***

New York State Roasted Foie Gras
Mandarine, Pedro Ximenez
28 dollar supplement
(absolutely evilicious - the creamiest delightful liver cooked to perfection with fruit sauces)

Maine Lobster
Dream of Spring, Santa Barbara peas
Green asparagus, wild Oregon watercress, blood orange dressing

***

Organic Long Island Duck
Indian Reservation wild rice, wheat berries, black dates, hand milled polenta

New Zealand White Fallow Venison
Cocoa, Balinese pepper, cafe, reglisse, organic beets and special spices

***

Chilled Coconut Soup
Pineapple granite, amaretto ice cream

Spiced Clementine Soup
Elderberry yogurt sorbet and tangerine, mandarin winter spice soup

***

Hot Valrhona Chocolate Frivolous

(just the best chocolate souffle ever)

Raspberries with creme sauce.
